Episode Review
I have mixed feelings, going into this one. I can't really remember my initial impressions of the episode, only later thoughts about how flawed and derivative it was. Guess I'll see how I feel about it now.
The first thing I noticed was the background music. Throughout the episode, I think William Anderson did a good job on that.
Here's a MLP trivia question: What is the connection between the season 1 episode Swarm of the Century, the Irish capital, and soul music?
It had taken a while to repair all the damage to Ponyville... So it wasn't until a week after when Shepherd showed up at Pinkie Pie's apartment window. He threw a rock at her window. No response. He grumbled, then threw another. And another... And another-
Pinkie: "Hi Shepherd!"
Shepherd: "GAHHH!" He held his chest hard, falling over, as Pinkie Pie just appeared right behind him "Haa! Haa! Haa! P-Pinkie!"

I just re-watched Swarm of the Century. For those who don't remember, in this episode, adorable little creatures called parasprites are introduced as pets to various members of the main cast. "I'm afraid an emergency has come up in Fillydelphia. Apparently there's been some sort of infestation."—Princess Celestia, Swarm of the Century.
"Parasprite infestation in Fillydelphia eradicated. That's great news!" —Pinkie Pie, Daring Done.
Well that sure took a while, didn't it? At least Filly is finally safe though, after 6 whole seasons of being besieged by parasprites.
Well, here we are. The very first episode written by arguably the most controversial member of the MLP writing staff:
